This evening we’re having a girly flat-warming. Or, to be more precise, we’re toasting our newly decorated apartment. Time to party!

This evening we’re having a girly flat-warming. Or, to be more precise, we’re toasting our newly decorated apartment. Time to party! It didn’t take us long to agree. It’s in all the magazines: the Baroque style has made a big comeback and has taken the fashion world by storm. Of course, we soon succumbed. And so our 100 m2 are now bedecked with magnificent candlesticks and in the living room we have a delightful 18th-century wing chair. But please note: they’ve been revamped by ingenious designers. So our famous candlesticks in fact feature plexiglass appliqués and the chair seat and back are a shocking pink! I’m going to add a painted wooden Louis XVI marquise chair which I picked up at an antiques fair last weekend.

But we’re not too keen on the pale blue fabric … once it’s been reseated, repainted (in fuchsia!) and varnished, it will be much more trendy! And once that’s all done I’ll have modernised an old piece of furniture; after all, designers don’t have the monopoly on imagination
